This decade was one of the most vibrant, outlandish and unique eras for fashion. There was nothing understated about fashion

in the 1980's.

Bigger meant better, from women's shoulder pads to men's power suits to bold colours and patterns.

The 80s decade is considered by some as the Golden Age of Movies.

It gave us some of the biggest Movies and Trilogies of all time, giving rise to the Blockbuster including classics such as ET, Back To The Future, Top Gun, Ghostbusters, Beverly Hills Cop, Gremlins and the Indiana Jones Movies to name just a few.

With the arrival of VHS also came a new way of watching your favourite TV program. Previously, if you missed an episode of your show, basically, that was that, as it was unlikely that it would be repeated.

Once you had managed to program the video to record, VHS allowed people for the first time, to never miss their TV favourites.

1980 saw the International debut of the Rubik's Cube and was named

toy of the year.

On the original classic Rubik's Cube, each of the six faces were covered by nine stickers, each of one of six colours: white, red, blue, orange, green and yellow. Some later versions of the Cube have been updated to use coloured plastic panels instead, which prevented peeling and fading.

Despite the Rubik's Cube reaching its height of mainstream popularity during the 80s, it is still widely known and used.
